Callpod

What is a callpod?
Well its a device that can charge up to 6 devices at once. This device will elimanate the number of wires connected to one outlet plug. Device junkies will find this device usefull. This device will output about 500mA in each of the 6 output ports.

The good things about this device is that it eliminates the usage of numerous wires in to one outlet plug. Another benefit is that it is small and they also provide a case to keep the device. One of the drawbacks of this device is that it only provides one adapter and to get additional adapters you have to buy the additional adapters. Another problem is that when it's charging a blue LED will light up and it is a problem when people want to charge at night.

Thumboard is like a mini keyboard and it has been around for quite awhile. It can be seen with the Palm Treo or Dopod where it is a slide out thumboard.
Pros
-Easier to press as it feels like a normal keyboard.
-Can develop motor-memory because the user can remember where are all the buttons at.
-Can have shortcuts on the thumboard.
-Less movement required because the thumboard is small.

Cons
-The buttons might spoil due to the overuse of the thumboard.
-Not suitable for people who have big hands.

Wireless Charging???

This is an interesting topic. There are students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is working on the future where people can now charge their Pocket PC or either and other moblie device without using a single wire. They are going to use wireless technology to transfer power. This will be a major breakthrough no more wires needed to charge the moblie devices. This will eleminate cable charging for Pocket PC's and moblie devices alltogether. Maybe even eleminate the use of battries. Imagine Pocket PC's without battries how thin will it be.

The team members are Andre Kurs, Aristeidis Karalis, Robert Moffatt, Prof. Peter Fisher, and Prof. John Joannopoulos (Francis Wright Davis Chair and director of ISN), led by Prof. Marin Soljacic. The image of the team is on the right.

They have proven that it is possible. They have managed to light a 60watts light blub using a power source about 7 feet away without any physical connection to the light blub. They are refering this concept as "WiTricity" which means wireless eletricty.
